The Amsale bridal collection was virtually started by Amsale Aberra’s own quest for the perfect wedding dress. While planning her “Big Day” to film exec Neil Brown in 1985, Amsale searched store after store looking for a contemporary, sophisticated dress that had simple clean lines. In her opinion, everything in the bridal industry at that time was overdone with a lot of beading and ornamentation.
Hence, after creating her own refined wedding gown and placing a classified ad to create similar-styled gowns for other prospective brides-to-be, Amasle was launched right in her New York City apartment. Amsale was lucky to discover an untapped niche in the bridal industry—designing elegant, understated dresses, which continues to be a trend today.
Amsale’s design philosophy reflects the idea of always creating timeless, traditional wedding gowns that showcase innovative twists and personality. She infuses modern updates such as, variations on the traditional bustle and the inclusion of tasteful color accents, including the now-famous “blue sash” gown.
Amasale’s Blue Label Collection features gowns that are more complex in construction using finer fabrics, more delicate laces and trims, and more intricate beadwork. Each gown is created individually and carries a signature blue label with the AMSALE ABERRA logo. The Blue Label Collection is only available through a small and very select number of fine bridal retailers, including discounted designs available at VOWS Bridal Outlet in Massachusetts and Bridepower.com.
Today Amsale’s name is synonymous with “forever modern” wedding dresses. Amsale wants every bride to look at her wedding pictures 20 years later and still want to wear her Amsale dress.
