Wearing Shorter Length Wedding Dresses

While most wedding dresses are floor length, there is a new trend now that is leading some brides to wear shorter wedding dresses. Not all of them are mini-dresses, which one would admit pushes the boundaries of taste. But some styles will actually look very nice on a lot of brides who are looking for something a little bit different.

Something a shorter wedding dress can do is allow more movement for a bride. As in the past, most women don’t wear full length skirts or dresses often anymore. So having to wear a long wedding dress for a day can be uncomfortable to some woman. Additionally, wedding dresses are usually heavier than formal dresses are.

Another thing about shorter wedding dresses is if a bride has great looking legs, she can show them off with a shorter wedding dress. This is definitely something that some brides who put a lot of work into their legs, take into account. A shorter dress will also show off their shoes better, and we all know how much woman love their shoes.

If you live in a warmer climate, wearing a shorter wedding dress is definitely going to help you stay cooler. Some churches don’t have the best air conditioning systems, and fans don’t always offer enough comfort.

Shorter wedding dresses also can make a wedding less formal, which means a guy doesn’t have to wear a tux, and even people coming to the wedding can be a bit more relaxed. Of course, that’s if the bride decides to share with everyone else that she’s looking for something a bit less formal.

When it comes to the wedding dress itself, brides have a lot of options with shorter wedding dresses, although there are some things they probably won’t do. For instance, brides can mix up the colors more with a shorter wedding dress since they’re not as formal. What they probably won’t do is have a lot of embroidery on the dress, as there’s less space, and therefore less room to try to achieve a proper balance between the upper and lower halves of the dress.

Truthfully, when it comes to wedding dresses short or long, there’s really nothing off limits. It’s all about preference, but a shorter wedding dress on a bride whose body type can pull it off may enhance comfort and look.
